Deputy Pharmacovigilance Cluster Lead - Hybrid/West London office

CHASE are currently partnering with a Global Blue-Chip Pharma who currently employ circa 15,000 employees; based in 20+ countries. Our client is currently in the market to secure a Deputy Local Safety Officer (DLSO) for the UK.

The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring complete regulatory compliance with all relevant Pharmacovigilance (PVG) requirements; both globally and regionally in order to ensure that the regional PVG system is in alignment with relevant operational PVG tasks.

The successful candidate will also be accountable for ensuring the efficient handling of safety reporting from regional through to a global level, whilst having responsibility for the oversight of all other regional UK based PV activities (e.g. monitoring of regional PV legislation). The role will include full accountability for the management of other internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Medical Affairs) as well as other regional PV vendors, whilst providing PV Training to relevant regional functions and external parties as is necessary, in order to ensure the efficient implementation of PV processes.

The successful candidate will report directly to the PV Cluster Lead (UK) and will be expected to work independently, utilising their pre-existing expertise to analyse and solve relevant problems.

Technical/Professional Knowledge:

  • Previous experience of Pharmacovigilance activity in a UK affiliate, experience within Ireland is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Medical Sciences. Postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Robust knowledge of International, European and Regional PV laws and Guidance.
  • Considerable pharma organisation awareness (interrelationship of departments, business priorities, including significant experience working cross-functionally)
  • Focus on accuracy and integrity.
  • Analytic and systematic approach with good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand complex matters with a continuous focus on improvement.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work with respect and appreciation of cultural diversity.
  • Proactive, autonomous and reliable working style paired with the ability to work in international matrix teams.
