Regional Access Manager - Derma/Biologics - North of England/Scotland

Our client is a highly regarded international healthcare company with a strong foothold in the UK Medical dermatology marketplace and has ambitious growth plans for the next few years. They are committed to enhancing the quality of people's lives through their innovative, science-based portfolio of sophisticated brands and services, trusted and recommended by healthcare professionals.

Its an exciting time for them as they enter the biologics market in Dermatology with a new asset/ mode of action which will be indicated for Atopic Dermatitis and Prurigo Nodularis.

The Regional Access Manager (RAM) is required to lead & implement the regional access strategy with a broad range of payer customers in order to achieve or improve access for their Dermatology portfolio including a specific focus on the new Biologic. The RAM will work in close collaboration and partnership with the commercial head office and commercial field-based teams to achieve success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure appropriate and consistent patient access to medicines within the regional payer including local ICSs and Trusts
  • Achieve optimal positioning of medicines within local/regional commissioning guidelines through communicating a robust Payor Value Proposition
  • Enable optimisation of funding and patient throughput for service elements (eg patient pathways) in Dermatology
  • Leading & implementing the regional market access strategy for new launch biologic in Dermatology
  • Mapping out and developing strong working relationships with relevant local/regional NHS, ICS commissioning personnel to enable implementation of access strategies
  • Support the timely inclusion of medicines onto local & regional formularies and clinical guidelines at ICS /Trust payor level
  • Removal of any regional or local barriers to patient access
  • The ability to develop, articulate and refine brand value propositions through use of approved Payer Tools and messaging
  • Close proactive collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure alignment between national and regional/local plans.
  • Identification of prioritised and XFT agreed opportunities where then new dermatology biologic is optimally positioned on clinical pathways to optimise funding and patient throughput for service elements (eg patient pathways) in the therapeutic areas within which they work (ICS / Trust)

Candidate requirements:

  • Market access experience in high costs drugs including launch experience.
  • Proven delivery of successful outcomes with payors
  • Experience working the therapeutic areas of Immunology and with established relationships within the local health economy
  • Drive for self-development with a solution & action-oriented work ethic
  • Proven clear, concise communication, influencing, and negotiating skills
  • Proven key account & project management skills & ability to prioritise and manage complex projects
  • Good knowledge of UK healthcare landscape, including national & local payors, providers and healthcare funding flows and ability to turn knowledge into insights
  • Proven experience of interacting with and shaping relationships directly with healthcare stakeholders, especially payors
  • Experience working in a payor organisation is desirable
  • Knowledge of payor decision making process and who are the key payor stakeholders
