Virtual Channel Manager - Cross portfolio - UK/Home based

Our client was established in 2023, as part of a Joint Venture Collaboration between two leading pharmaceutical companies. Headquartered in the UK, they are responsible for managing a portfolio of 13 medicines across six key therapeutic areas, including cancer pain, constipation, and bone health.

The Virtual Channel Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the distribution and sales channels within targeted ICB's for a range of pharmaceutical products. Their primary goal is to ensure that pharmaceutical products reach the right accounts efficiently and effectively, ultimately contributing to the company's overall sales and revenue targets. The role involves a blend of strategic planning, relationship management, and operational execution within the pharmaceutical industry.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to achieve sales goals and maximize market penetration across hospital and ICB accounts as required for each product in your portfolio
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Purchasing Pharmacists, Medicines Optimisation Managers, Key HCPs and other stakeholders in the pharmaceutical supply chain
  • Within scope of responsibility, negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements with channel partners to ensure mutually beneficial arrangements
  • Drive sales growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding the reach of pharmaceutical products within existing accounts
  • Provide training and support to accounts to enhance their understanding of our pharmaceutical products and suitable patients
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and strategies
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement

Experience required:

  • ABPI qualified with demonstrable success in a secondary care sales role across a portfolio of products
  • Experience conducting sales/business transactions with customers on a virtual platform
  • Understanding of the payor landscape in ICB's and experience of influencing pathways and formularies
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking and negotiation abilities
  • Deep understanding of products, industry, channels and distribution process
  • Previous cross functional collaboration
