When your medicine or device reaches a patient, the clinical journey is just beginning. And the difference between a good outcome and a great one often comes down to the quality of the people around that patient.
CHASE builds, manages and supports patient-facing clinical teams for pharmaceutical, medtech and biotech companies. We handle everything from recruitment, employment, and training to day-to-day management and clinical governance, so your team can focus on what matters most: the patient.

Managing a patient-facing clinical team is not like managing a commercial field force. The stakes are higher, the governance requirements are more complex, and the relationship between nurses or clinicians and a patient’s quality of life is direct. CHASE understands that.

We recruit, employ, train and manage your clinical team from day one. HR, payroll, clinical governance, and professional development are all handled by CHASE, so you don’t have to build that infrastructure yourself.

Our teams are recruited for the specific skills your patients need. We provide ongoing training, workshops and a clear progression framework, ensuring your nurses and clinicians stay at the top of their game throughout the programme.

Our patient-facing teams work alongside NHS trusts, community teams and primary care providers. They understand NHS protocols, align with NMC and CQC standards, and are seen by NHS professionals as trusted extensions of the care pathway.

Patient need doesn’t follow a schedule. We provide responsive back-office and logistical support, including uniforms, PPE, clinical supplies and out-of-hours cover, so your team can focus on patients, not admin. When circumstances change, we adapt quickly.

We have grown patient-facing clinical teams from a handful of nurses to national programmes of 80+ over long-term partnerships. Our track record includes preventing thousands of hospital admissions annually and facilitating rapid hospital discharges.
We deploy a range of patient-facing clinical professionals depending on your therapy area, patient population and programme objectives:
Including clinical nurse specialists, community nurses and therapy area nurses, providing patient training, home visits, clinical assessment and ongoing support for complex or long-term treatment programmes.
Through Medacy, our sister company, we can deploy prescribing pharmacists into community and primary care settings to support medicines optimisation, patient education and adherence.
Specialist nutrition support for patients on complex dietary regimes, including enteral and parenteral feeding programmes, working alongside nursing teams and NHS dietetic services.
Trained professionals who deliver patient and carer education on device use, self-administration, condition management and treatment adherence in the home, clinic or community setting.
Coordinators who manage patient pathways end-to-end, liaising between the patient, your organisation, NHS trusts and community services to ensure nothing falls through the gaps.
The challenge
A global leader in clinical nutrition needed a national field team of specialist nurses to support vulnerable patients managing conditions requiring enteral feeding, including patients with cancer and severe learning disabilities. Managing a patient-facing nursing team at this scale, across varied NHS trust environments and through the complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic, required a partner who could handle everything.
Our solution
CHASE has built and managed this nursing team for over 20 years, growing it from 8 nurses to a national team of 85, including 8 nurse managers. We handle all recruitment, employment, HR, training and operational logistics. During the pandemic, CHASE worked with the client to pivot rapidly to home-based nasogastric tube insertions, reducing hospital admissions at a critical time.
5,087 hospital referrals prevented in a single year
88% of discharge training delivered within one working day of referral
61,114 patient and HCP interactions completed in a single year

“I would highly recommend CHASE as a go-to organisation to deliver service improvement initiatives that could benefit both pharma and the wider NHS. Your attention to detail, co-ordination of all the moving parts and ability to drive the project forward has been exemplary.”

"Many thanks for all CHASE’s efforts in leading this important work through an extremely challenging time for the NHS.
Your attention to detail, co-ordination of all the moving parts and ability to drive the project forward has been exemplary.
Albeit we have been delayed by the pandemic, I know we would not have delivered the results achieved so far, without your efforts and for this CHASE deserve massive credit.
My experience has been such that I would highly recommend CHASE as a go-to organisation to deliver both R&D projects, or service improvement initiatives that could benefit both pharma and the wider NHS."
Director of Medicine Engagement
"I wanted to recognise what brilliant partners CHASE have been to our team over the last few months, playing a vital role in helping us deliver this critical project at such high pace.
Steve in the early phases, and then Emma, Huw & Danny as regular members of the Project Team. Huw, of note, your early leadership in the Project Team, leaning on past experience of how to run the process alongside our other supplier was particularly helpful in those first weeks.
To the whole team, your responsiveness, pragmatism and positive energy has been first class throughout."
Commercial Business Unit Director
"CHASE have been trusted partners for over a decade and provide us with a high-quality outsourced specialist sales team, plus excellent wrap around service, pastoral care and consultancy.
When we recently launched a new Oncology product, the CHASE sales team was instrumental in this. I am regularly approached by other contract sales providers and have no hesitation in saying “no thank you.”
UK Commercial Director
"The collaboration with CHASE was instrumental in ensuring the study could be delivered on time and on budget.
In addition, CHASE facilitated, through site networks and agile research nurse placements, the delivery of the UK recruitment target 3 months ahead of plan."
